So, after many years of assuming alt-scouting is 'cheating' under xwis rules, it would appear that in fact it isn't! My thoughts can be found here:

I know many people will consider alt scouting 'cheap', but it's an interesting development to learn that it's not officially classed as a bug exploit/glitch under ST rules.
